Several types of Gas Central Heating Systems are available in the heating market. These systems for the most part are made up of a number of radiators, pipework and of course a gas central heating boiler.

People in the United Kingdom, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. Central Heating is more in demand particularly in the chilly wintertime, making a Gas Central Heating System an absolute must-have for all modern houses and all those located in the United Kingdom.

A reliable Gas Central Heating system is important to keep your house warm especially during winter months. You can make your home more comfortable, pleasing and relaxing by heating it with Gas Central Heating. Your Central Heating System must be fault free as much as possible and efficient to cut bills. It is important to have peace of mind that your Gas Central Heating System is not only practical to use but also safe.

Pumped/vented and sealed are the two main types of Central Heating Systems on the market.

The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Central Heating systems. An expansion tank is present in a pumped heating system. Your house gets hot water through the stored hot water tank, it also supplies heat to the central heating radiators. The expansion tank has enough space to allow for the expanding of water as a result of heating. It is normally placed at the highest place of the house like the attic area, taking up space. The tank provides a dual supply of hot water and warmth for the house.

Most houses, especially the old ones will have a vented/pumped heating system.

The sealed Central Heating system is one that more and more people are opting for these days. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. There are benefits to have this closed type of system with pipework and tanks being unnecessary.

- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the attic.

- There won’t be any repair work on the tank or pipes which will be in the attic for a pumped/vented system.

- The danger of a leaking water tank is all together absent.

- The air cannot enter the system as its sealed and hence there are lesser risks of sludge, corrosion and airlocks developing.

- Can be easily rinsed out under pressure via the main water supply.

The sealed Central Heating system is a fully packaged system with all the controls and safety devices already in place. The water for the system is provided directly from the main water pipe of the house. It is plumbed straight into the main water supply.

The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. Pressure buildup in a Sealed system can be relieved by a safety valve which drains out water; and pressure drop is compensated by automatic fresh intake of water via another valve.

Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
