The wintertime is in store so get a central heating system

Gas central heating is the best way to keep your house warm during winters. And for keeping your house cosy and warm, you need a good, safe and reliable gas central heating system, not one that breaks down when the first ice appears.

Most heating systems compromise of a heating boiler; radiator and pipework, there are basically two different sorts of central heating systems, one being a pumped system and the other being a vented system.

Popularly used are pumped systems which comprise of a main feed and expansion water tank that heats up and transmits the heat through pipework to secondary heaters (radiators). The tank has enough storage space to allow for any water expansion that might result from the heating.

The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. It is basically a closed system, and for this reason, there is no need of water tanks. Chief advantages of vented systems are: there is no risk of leaking water tank; major problems like air locks are also not associated with such systems; moreover, they are specifically useful in cold countries because there is no risk of freezing pipes.

So the question now is, why do we need gas central heating? Is it really necessary?.

Gas central heating is great in a way that it warms up your office and home at a lightening fast speed and the quality of the surrounding air doesn’t even get affected. The old type heaters that were used were gas fires and electric heaters, as well as storage heaters. However, these older heating methods make the air sticky and hard, and can also emit an unpleasant odour.

Such problems never occur with gas central heating but they require regular maintenance to ensure their peak performance. Spring and summertime often sees these systems shut down and completely ignored, only to be abruptly switched on when a chilly wind blows in. You should instead try to gradually introduce them in the autumn time, testing so if things are playing up you can easily call out an engineer.

Airborne dust and other contaminants can also seep into the gas central heating system, necessitating periodic drainage and cleansing. For draining the system just open the valve and keep a bucket below it for water collection, ensure that water doesn’t enter the system when it is being drained.
